In June of 2020, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, a group of dedicated volunteers came together to form The Underdog Family (TUF), a nonprofit organization with a mission to support locally owned small businesses by enhancing their digital presence. TUF wasn’t just about building websites; they were storytellers at heart. They connected with entrepreneurs, community staples, and newcomers eager to make a difference.
What made TUF truly special was its foundation: a close-knit group of friends driven by the desire to give back to their community. With no salaries and no formal structure, they were united by a shared commitment to uplift those around them. Over time, TUF supported more than 20 small businesses, helping each to establish and enhance its digital footprint. Their work wasn’t just technical; it was deeply personal, helping to tell the stories of the businesses that form the fabric of the community.
As the work of TUF continued, many volunteers recognized the value in what they had created and decided to take their efforts a step further. From this collective passion, Your Highlight Reel was born—a for-profit LLC founded by the same volunteers who had given so much of their time and talent to TUF.
Your Highlight Reel is dedicated to helping professionals showcase the best version of themselves by building personalized websites that highlight their unique stories and accomplishments. But the spirit of TUF lives on. The team at Your Highlight Reel remains committed to supporting The Underdog Family by continuing to offer their services to the nonprofit free of charge. This new venture is a true win-win: it allows the volunteers to sustain their efforts while ensuring that TUF’s mission to uplift local businesses and tell their stories continues to thrive.
